Hi friends!

A quick update to let you know our plans for the future of Fawn & Clover!  Today (2.15.17) is the last day to order before we close before baby #4 is due!  We have not determined a set date to re-open, but we’ll take things as they come.

Here’s what will change – we will only be open for a certain amount of orders per month.  So, the beginning of each month we will add new items that will only be available to purchase for a short period of time.  This will give us time to work on orders and in turn, have shorter turnaround times.  We fully understand that this is not always the ideal way to do things.  This could be temporary, or permanent.  The Lord has been calling me, as a mom, to slow down.

A huge thank you to all of my customers, friends, followers and family for allowing me to do this work.  And thank you for your patience as we work out the future of Fawn & Clover.

*Be sure to follow our ready to ship IG account (@shopfawnandclover) – I will be posting things there in the coming weeks.

*Follow our family adventures + things we love (@kaylagiacalone)

You all are the BEST!

Please take a few minutes to fill out our survey!  10 questions and you will be entered to win leggings for a year!

*sizes 0-3 months up to 2/3T.  One pair per month of your choice.

Survey will be up through Wednesday, Jan. 27th.  Winner will be announced via Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 28th.

Snuggle Me Organic Review

A non sleeping baby is no joke – I’m sure many of you can attest to that. I’m not sure if I just missed all of the great products out there with my first two or if they weren’t available, but wow!  I have found so many great things this time around, being my third.

I recently had the opportunity to review a cushion from Snuggle Me Organic, and it has been amazing!  I wish I knew about it when Adelise was a tiny newborn because I know it would have helped a lot!  She was only napping 20 minutes at a time for so long and it was exhausting!  But – it’s great for bigger babies too.  🙂 Adelise is 4 months old now and we use it daily!

I love that it fits right inside of her bassinet and gives her the sensation of being held while keeping her safely on her back.  I think maybe the most exciting part to me is that I can use it when we travel.  We often visit family out of town and bringing this cushion along will be a life saver every time!

We also use it a lot on the living room floor.  I can put her in it and she easily stays content while I fold laundry, start dinner, etc. Things that can be hard to do with a baby!  My big kids love it too because they can sit on the floor and play with her and she actually lays there happily entertained by them.  They would actually lay in it if I let them. 😉

This cushion has been a great, sleep changing tool for us.  We received the organic cotton/hypoallergenic poly version and it is so soft and such great quality!

“We use 100% organic cotton twill for the cushion covering and 100% organic cotton fleece for our hand-made removable covers. They are then filled with hypo-allergenic polyester fiber fill making for a machine washable and durable cushion.”

The center sling technology makes this cushion like no other:

“Because of our exclusive, patented, sling design, the Snuggle Me will gently cradle baby. This one-of-a-kind feature creates a hammock-like effect (a snuggle) allowing baby to remain securely & safely on their back.”

What baby doesn’t like to feel like they’re being held?!  You can see how snug she is in it.  Being a shop that offers organic baby clothing, I really appreciate the value and quality of a hand crafted product like this.  You can’t go wrong investing is something that will change the way your baby sleeps and being able to use it as a lounger is just an added bonus!

Other uses include:

tummy time
infant massage
acid reflux relief
as a changing station

Snuggle Me Organic has mastered the design of these baby cushions. Be sure to check out the other versions they offer!

Small Business Feature:: Owen & Abi

Owen & Abi

A small business with a mission!  Here’s Katy’s story about how her passion helps families meet basic needs.

“I started my “skirt for a skirt” project in June of this year. I wanted to use my passion for creating to extend help and love to others. I reached out to a local organization here in Portland called the Nothwest Children’s Outreach. This organization helps needy children and their families with the very basic needs, like clothing, shoes, jackets and hygiene kits. One thing that these children are not used to is receiving brand new, handmade boutique type items. So for every skirt I sell on my website I donate one skirt to the organization. I’ve grown to really love the people I work with at the center and I feel truly humbled and honored to give to this organization . It’s a little bit of myself that I can give back and share with others.”

I am so impressed with the quality of these skirts.  So adorable and the mission is incredible!  Visit Katy’s shop, Owen &  Abi to see more skirts and accessories!

Thanks for sharing your heart, Katy!  xoxo

Fawn & Clover: A New Beginning

Welcome to Fawn & Clover!  I’m so glad you’re here!

What an exciting time this is for me:: to share my love of so many things with you!

Where did we begin?

In 2009, I married this handsome guy:

Yep, we look like babies.

We moved to West Michigan (Holland: Tulip City).

And I started My Bella Baby, my Etsy shop.

We’ve come a long way.

On Feb. 28th 2011, we welcomed our first baby, Eliana Kathryn into our family.

With a few breaks here and there, My Bella Baby just kept growing….

On Dec. 4th 2012, we welcomed our second baby, Brayden Xavier into our family.

Two kids = A LOT of work.  So, My Bella Baby slowed down a bit.   But kept growing, if that makes sense…

My love for children’s clothing grew. Especially as my daughter grew, I started to venture into toddler things, instead of just baby things.  I had never sewn with knits before, until I accidentally ordered a knit fabric instead of cotton.  Instead of returning it, I made this:

Yep, that’s all it took.  That’s how I started sewing knit clothing.  By accident, but it became {almost} an obsession.

After discovering that I could design my own fabric, I knew that ‘My Bella Baby’ needed a change.  We were growing.

So with the help of Becca from Jumping Jax Designs {the best ever – go see her for all of your graphic design needs!}, we came up with Fawn & Clover.

It has been so much work, but wow, what an adventure!

Etsy has been a great source for starting a small business.  In fact, I would recommend it to anyone wanting to open a handmade shop.  But with so much growth, it was time to say goodbye to My Bella Baby + Etsy and hello to Fawn & Clover.

I’m so thankful you are here, reading this.  So thankful to my friends, family and customers that have really made this possible.  Thankful to everyone that has shared my shop, made a purchase, reached out to me in some way…

So, I am interested…how did you hear about us?  A friend, Etsy, Facebook?

I’m so glad you’re here!
